Justin Elicker has raised more than $94,000, campaign says
NEW HAVEN - A statement released by his campaign revealed that Alderman Justin Elicker, a Democratic candidate for mayor, has gained more than $94,000 in his first quarter fundraising.
NEW HAVEN, April 9, 2013 – In the two months since launching his campaign, New Haven
Elicker, D-10, raised more than $56,000 in individual contributions and expects to receive an additional $38,000 of matching and grant funds from New Haven’s Democracy Fund, the release said.
"The money raised comes from more than 600 different donors, over 80 percent of whom are New Haven residents," the release said.
“Our success raising significant funds through grass roots contributions from a large number of New Haven residents reflects a desire in New Haven for a new type of government – one that is responsive directly to New Haven residents rather than special interests, contractors and the politically connected,” Elicker said, also in the release.
