SOTS Merrill looks at the role of women in Connecticut elections
Here is Secretary of the State Denise Merrill talking about Connecticut's voting rights history.
One interesting note — Merrill points out that "women in New Haven were allowed to serve on their local Board of Education until 1897, when the right was taken away from them."
"It's still a difficult path to statewide office," she says.
