FEMA meetings rescheduled for East Haven (press release)
State Rep. James Albis, D-East Haven, announced that informational meetings regarding FEMA programs concerning eligibility for East Haven residents have been rescheduled.
A briefing is for homeowners and business owners who are interested in the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) and the Severe Repetitive Program (SRL) is scheduled on Wednesday, December 7th at the Bradford Manor Fire Station No. 4, 85 George St., East Haven, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
A follow up meeting for homeowners and businesses working on their HMGP applications will be held on Wednesday, Dec,. 14 again at the Bradford Manor Fire Station No. 4, 85 George Street, East Haven, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
"It is my hope that these meetings will be helpful for East Haven residents," Rep. Albis said. "I'm glad that FEMA is still planning to hold these forums to educate folks on their recovery options."
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MEETING FOR AREA BUSINESSES ALSO SCHEDULED
Rep. Albis is also informing area businesses to take advantage of a New Business Outreach Program To Promote Jobs that is being sponsored by the Department of Economic and Community Development.
An informational program on new state initiatives for small businesses will be held on Tuesday, Dec.6, at the New Haven Lawn Club, 193 Whitney Avenue, New Haven from 8:30-10 a.m.
"There is $180 million in new funding that's targeted for small businesses and attendees can learn what assistance is available for them," Rep. Albis said. "I was proud to support this funding for small businesses in the bipartisan jobs bill approved during the recent special legislative session."
